On February 22, at the Beijing Shunyi International Exhibition Center during the “ISH 2025 China Heating Exhibition,” Soletks Group held a highly anticipated strategic cooperation signing ceremony with Yantai Sunmeili New Energy Co., Ltd.. The agreement initiates an in-depth collaboration to integrate innovation in solar thermal energy and biomass pellet heating, representing a comprehensive upgrade of clean heating solutions for households, campuses, industrial parks, and rural communities.
Both parties emphasized that combining solar-biomass hybrid heating with digital control and thermal storage will enhance energy efficiency, reduce emissions, and lower lifecycle costs—offering a practical pathway toward low-carbon cities and resilient rural heating networks.
Soletks Group: Integrated Solar Thermal Leader
Founded in 2009, Soletks Group is a technology-driven enterprise with a complete industrial chain for integrated solar utilization. With flat plate clean thermal energy at its core, the company focuses on R&D and application of multiple clean-energy technologies covering solar, geothermal, and air-source energy. Its portfolio serves building heating, industrial process heat, agricultural drying, aquaculture and mid-to-high temperature needs—delivering high-quality heating, cooling, and power integration services.
Soletks has been recognized as a National High-Tech Enterprise, a Pioneer in Solar Thermal Utilization Products, and a national “Little Giant” specialized and innovative enterprise. The Group has also received the Shandong Provincial Science & Technology Progress Award, been listed among Shandong’s “specialized and new” enterprises, and accredited as a Provincial Enterprise Technology Center—underscoring its sustained leadership in technology and engineering quality.
The company’s flagship EFPC large flat plate solar thermal system integrates flat plate solar collectors, high-selective absorber coatings, precision laser-welding, and modular hydraulics. EFPC arrays can connect to municipal heating pipe networks for solar district heating or operate independently, and have demonstrated the ability to maintain indoor winter temperatures above 18°C even in high-altitude regions such as Tibet. Complementing EFPC are solar water heaters for domestic hot water and PVT hybrid panels that co-generate electricity and heat, forming end-to-end clean thermal energy systems.
Sunmeili New Energy: Biomass Specialist with Strong Rural Roots
Established in 2013, Yantai Sunmeili New Energy has grown into a benchmark in China’s biomass energy sector. Recognized as a National High-Tech Enterprise and a leader in specialized, innovative development, Sunmeili focuses on low-cost, high-efficiency biomass clean-energy equipment, including biomass pellet stoves, pellet fuel supply, and agricultural energy applications. With deep experience in rural markets for more than a decade, its products are widely used across northern China for winter residential heating and in industrial clean energy applications.
The company has earned numerous honors and built long-term university collaborations. Its practical, field-proven technologies are valued for reliability, affordability, and compatibility with distributed heating scenarios where centralized infrastructure is limited.
Strategic Cooperation: Solar Meets Biomass
The agreement signed at ISH 2025 positions the partners to co-develop integrated solutions that leverage the complementary strengths of solar and biomass. Solar energy offers clean, scalable daytime heat and—via PVT hybrid panels—electricity; biomass pellet heating provides dispatchable, local base-load heat during nights and overcast periods. Together they create flexible, resilient systems optimized for different climates and load profiles.
Joint workstreams will cover product co-design, performance standards, digital O&M, and project finance models. Pilot projects will explore hybrid configurations such as EFPC + pellet boiler + thermal storage for township heating, and PVT + smart controller + pellet stove for hotels, schools, and hospitals—delivering renewable heating solutions that are clean, efficient, and cost-effective.
Benefits and Market Potential
Environmental gains – Significant reduction in coal usage and greenhouse gas emissions, accelerating low-carbon heating solutions and progress toward carbon neutrality in China.
High efficiency – Day-night complementarity raises annual heat yield; flat plate solar collectors deliver stable output while pellet stoves ensure reliable peak-load supply.
Economic value – Local biomass resources lower fuel costs; modular EFPC arrays and solar water heaters reduce lifecycle OPEX for residential and commercial clients.
Scalability – Applicable from household daily hot-water to campus and industrial heating, supporting green renovation and new-build markets.
Both companies will also cooperate on export strategies, bringing Chinese green building energy solutions—from EFPC large flat plate solar thermal systems to biomass pellet stoves—to Belt-and-Road markets seeking practical clean-heating upgrades.
Voices from the Partners
“This cooperation is a win-win milestone,” said a Soletks spokesperson. “By uniting solar thermal with biomass pellet technologies, we’re building an integrated clean-heating ecosystem that serves people’s livelihoods, industry needs, and environmental goals.”
Sunmeili representatives noted that coupling high-efficiency pellet combustion with EFPC and PVT solutions will “create greener, safer, and more affordable heating outcomes for both northern towns and urban facilities.”
Outlook
Looking ahead, Soletks and Sunmeili will accelerate R&D, standardization, and demonstration of solar-biomass hybrid heating. By aligning engineering, policy, and finance, the partnership aims to scale renewable heating solutions that are clean, resilient, and economically sound—setting a benchmark for China’s clean-heating transition and offering replicable models to the world.
